We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and professional Finance Manager to join Batley Multi Academy Trust. This is a new and exciting role within the Trust. The role will be based in one of our secondary schools (Upper Batley High School) for two days per week and across the Trust for the other three.
The Trust Finance Manager will lead the Trust’s central finance function, being responsible for managing the organisation’s financial systems, including payroll. They will advise on and ensure effective provision of financial management across the Trust; managing a small central finance team.
The successful candidate will hold a formal accountancy qualification (CCAB) or be part qualified with significant experience relevant to the post.

Essential educational requirements
Significant experience of financial planning/budget management and monitoring for a school or similar environment.
Experience of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint and other computer based systems.
Significant experience of accounting and payroll software eg Civica, PS Financials, Sage.
Evidence of successful management and leadership of teams of staff.
Experience of working effectively in a team.
Experience of working with Governors, Trustees or a Board of Directors
Experience of working with a range of external partners to achieve organisational aims.
The role requires a minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade 4 – 9 (A –C) or equivalent including English and Maths.
A relevant business or accountancy qualification (preferably CCAB qualified or part-qualified).
Essential skills and experience
Substantial specialist theoretical and practical knowledge of the policies, processes and procedures for financial management in an organisation.
Knowledge of teachers and local government pension schemes.
Knowledge/overview of the Academies Financial Handbook.
Knowledge/overview of Academies Accounts Direction.
Practical knowledge of VAT regulations.
Sound working knowledge and understanding of methods of ordering, contracts, purchasing, value for money and best value.
Knowledge of principles and methods of financial control and reporting.
Knowledge of financial regulations relating to company and charity legislation.More on how to apply
