Trust Payroll Officer job summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join the trust. The Payroll Officer will report to the Payroll Manger to support for the day to day function on the payroll for the whole Trust. You will be a first point of contact for any queries raised by our schools. The Payroll Officer will work closely with the Payroll Manager ensuring the correct processes are being followed as well as our Payroll Provider ensuring the payroll service is being delivered to a high standard.

You will have experience in a payroll role, ideally within the education sector or similar and it is essential to have an understanding of payroll processes and legal requirements.

A qualification as a payroll professional is highly desirable (or extensive payroll experience)

Accuracy and attention to detail is essential within this role, along with experience in use of MS Office and an excellent workable knowledge of Microsoft Excel. You will have the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team. Time management and organisational skills are key as well as being able to work under pressure and meet the required payroll deadlines.

We are looking for between 30 & 37 hours per week for 41 weeks per year - this is term time, plus three weeks, to be agreed in advance with the Payroll Manager. However, if you have the skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil this new role (due to growth within our trust) please apply as we are very happy to talk flexible working patterns with you.

The role is a hybrid role, predominantly working 4 days per week at home and 1 day per week in the office which is based at Bartholomew School in Eynsham. There will be a need for flexibility to attend the Trust offices as and when required. There may be a need for occasional travel to schools within the trust.
