We’re looking for an unqualified teacher with a proven track record of success and raising pupil outcomes. As an unqualified teacher at Star you’ll join the Star Academies family, a high-performing and supportive network of primary and secondary schools with some of the best teachers in education.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.

You will have:

  • An honours degree qualification (typically 2ii or above) or relevant qualification.
  • Innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.
  • The ability to teach to across the age phase that you will be trained.
  • The ability to deliver effective learning and teaching in the classroom.

The Olive School, Birmingham is a Muslim faith-based, primary school for 4 to 11 year olds, which welcomes pupils from all faiths and none. We opened in Sparkhill in 2016 and, like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism. We were graded as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted during our first inspection in June 2019. The Olive School, Birmingham is a 630 place Muslim faith based primary school which welcomes children from all faiths and none. The school opened in September 2016, admitting 90 children into Reception and 90 children into Year 1. It will welcome another 90 children into Reception each September and will reach its full size in 2021. Like all Star schools, it has “Leadership” as a specialism.
