What skills and experience we're looking for
The Headteacher and Governing Body are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to this friendly, aspirational, inclusive and happy primary school which is part of the Coombe Secondary Schools Academy Trust. Teachers are able to benefit from cross Academy working, support and professional development opportunities, and will be part of our staff team judged to be Good with Outstanding features (Outstanding Leadership and Management, Outstanding Behaviour and Attitudes, and Outstanding Early Years) by Ofsted (October 2019), under their new, challenging framework.
We are very proud of the learning that takes place at Knollmead, in particular consistently achieving above the national average for the percentage of children achieving at greater depth/higher standard alongside our exceptional support for children with additional needs.
What the school offers its staff
“I love that training and development [at Knollmead] are followed through. In previous schools, this was often a box-ticking exercise and a true waste of time. I rarely feel we are doing anything just for the sake of it here - everything has a purpose and a reason. New strategies or ways of teaching are based on thorough research, carefully considered, and then properly implemented. Everyone is expected to embed these in their classroom practice, which ensures consistency and results.” Class teacher
“It has been a fantastic opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable team at Knollmead. Expert teachers are always willing to help and give advice on any questions I may have concerning teaching and learning or assessment. At the heart of the community is to continue to learn together and because of this ethos I have gained a lot of experience and have been able to continuously grow in my practice.” Class teacher
