Shephalbury Park is a special place, where challenge and enjoyment is at the core of what we do. We place a strong emphasis around the school on threading our motto, ‘Imagine, Believe, Achieve’ through much of the work that we do. We recognise how important it is for our learning community to have dreams and aspirations, but also work hard to instil the understanding that we have to work hard and have smaller goals to work towards achieving our dreams. We work hard to spread this ethos across our entire learning community whether it be pupils, staff, parents or other community members. Understanding that we are never too old to have dreams, or are able to work hard to achieve them is vital for everyone in our community to support each other in achieving them.
As the Headteacher of Shephalbury Park at this exciting time, together with our highly committed team, we have developed a strong vision for school improvement and development. Our staff are a dynamic team who are deeply dedicated to providing a consistently high standard of learning and teaching, where we recognise, appreciate and celebrate our school community’s achievement and successes.
We encourage pupils to enjoy the challenge of learning, through a broad, balanced and varied curriculum, enabling them to develop their individual potential in a secure, caring environment. We have the highest expectations of all pupils in every area of the school life and have clear behaviour guidelines to enable them to make the right behaviour choices. We have a strong ethos of equality of opportunities for everyone, to underpin all our policies and practices.
Our pupils are happy, confident learners, who respond well to the inclusive community feel of our school, yet strive to achieve high standards in every aspect of the curriculum. Our pupils’ love of learning is enhanced by the curriculum we offer, and the experiences that we facilitate.
We aim to build a strong relationship between home and school, where trust, understanding and support form the basis of a shared responsibility to prepare pupils to be responsible and successful citizens in an ever-changing society.
