VARIOUS FULL TIME HLTAS REQUIRED THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL job summary
The Governing Body of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School & Nursery are seeking to recruit a number of HLTAs to work in various key stages throughout the School. The posts are for 12 months initially.
The successful candidates must be committed to and have a proven track record of raising standards. They must have good interpersonal skills with pupils, staff and parents, be open, trustworthy, hardworking, reliable and approachable. They must also be determined and motivated, work successfully within a team and be solution focused when things do not go according to plan.
The HLTA team at St Mary’s complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed teaching and learning activities in either groups or whole classes.
The successful candidates will undertake various duties including support for targeted intervention groups, PPA cover and cover for teaching staff absences. They will also provide the specialist skills and knowledge to support teaching staff in the development and progress of our pupils.
You must have experience of teaching groups/classes within the primary range, planning lessons, identifying learning objectives, assessing outcomes and providing effective feedback. You must also have knowledge and experience of SEN and delivering a wide variety of SEND strategies and interventions.
The successful candidate will be sympathetic to the ethos and traditions of a Catholic School.
Skills for the role include knowledge of the national curriculum, experience of planning a variety of lessons, understanding a range of positive behaviour management strategies and the ability to form positive, appropriate relationships with our pupils.
