What skills and experience we're looking for
Longley Park Sixth Form Academy is an exciting mix of ideas, beliefs, cultures and languages. Situated in the North East of Sheffield, we are passionate about making sure that students who would not otherwise have access to academic and vocational courses can study and be successful. We believe inclusive education is the vehicle for social mobility and making futures happen.
A popular sixth form, we have over 1100 students aged 16 – 19. They study a wide range of courses - Level 1 to Level 3 Applied Generals, T-Levels and A Levels. With high expectations and challenge within a culture of care, our learners are encouraged to excel and go on to excellent destinations. In 2018, Ofsted rated us as ‘Good’.
We are looking for an ambitious leader who, as the sole Vice Principal, can lead our work in continuing to improve the quality of education for students and provide them with the opportunity to overcome the variability of educational and life experiences. You will play a vital role in developing strategic targeted support and interventions, working with other leaders to bridge these gaps and ensure every student can succeed. You will have strategic oversight across all aspects of curriculum and pastoral delivery, as well as further developing quality assurance and teaching and learning. You will also deputise for the Principal in his absence.
We are determined to live the Academy and Trust mission of enhancing life chances for young people from the area. We also know that the bedrock of any academy is the quality and stability of the staff team. Our staff are dedicated with a commitment to excellence alongside unwavering values. We care about their wellbeing and are committed to developing, retaining and promoting them.
We are looking for someone who is excited by the values and the prospect of leading in this setting. If this attracts you and you believe you can lead further success, then we would like to hear from you.
