Job description

• Work as part of the core and wider senior leadership team in order to support the strategic leadership of the UTC.
• Fully commit to the vision and values established by SLT and Governors
• Lead a wide range of teams in order to raise attainment and secure school improvement
• Lead by example and to take a leading role in developing leadership in others
• Be an excellent role model for all members of staff and students and to maintain a positive and visible presence around the UTC.
• Work collaboratively with SLT and others in order to monitor, review, evaluate and improve the
learning across the UTC.
• Comply with any reasonable request from the Headteacher to undertake work of a similar level not specified in this job description.
• Be pro-active in the lives of students studying at the UTC.

Essential skills and experience

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience at senior leadership level in a secondary school.
• Proven record of recent successful leadership and management in secondary school
• Proven record of raising attainment at department or whole school level.
• Leadership of significant areas of curriculum development.
• Innovative approach to curriculum development.
• Proven ability to timetable at least departmental and preferably whole school and consortium level.
• Management of performance data at department and whole school level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead several substantial departments, preferably outside of their own specialism, and improve performance in those departments.
• Demonstrated ability to work on building a successful school from opening, setting expectation, targets and ethos.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and inspire successful staff.
• Evidence of outstanding practice in the classroom
• Experience of using data to enhance attainment and achievement
