Vice Principal job summary
Are you ambitious for all our young people and their life chances? Would you like to benefit from superb professional development opportunities and to work in one of the best equipped schools in the county? If so, then we would be very interested in hearing from you and supporting you in a relocation to the Lake District, an area of outstanding natural beauty and a paradise for those who love the outdoors!
The role
We are seeking an inspirational, ambitious and strategic leader who can build on the many strengths of the Academy and work in partnership with our recently appointed Principal. We will build the role around your skills set – we are keen to attract the right calibre of leader rather than be restricted by a traditional pastoral vs academic mindset.
Working with the Principal you’ll set the vision for the future of the Academy, putting the right people and plans in place to see that our young people leave the Academy feeling proud of what they’ve achieved and what they’re capable of.
Leaders are committed to raising pupils’ aspirations by further developing their social and cultural skills- Ofsted April 2017.
We want you to be part of our professional, supportive and friendly team. We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted which shows that we are an ambitious and rapidly improving Academy. It also gives us some further insight into how we can continue to work towards becoming an Outstanding school. The full report from the most recent inspection can be found on our website.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with vulnerable students. The role will involve working in partnership with academy leaders, classroom-based staff, parents, pupils and other professionals in order to address the barriers to learning our students experience to allow them to engage with education.
We are an inclusive employer and are happy to consider flexible working practices, part time or a job share if they will benefit you and the students of the Academy.
The salary is negotiable for the right candidate.
A start date of Easter is desired but this is negotiable.
