We are delighted to announce an exciting secondment opportunity for an experienced and passionate educational leader to join St Nicholas of Tolentine School as a Vice Principal and SENDCo/Inclusion Lead. This opportunity is ideal for an individual looking to further their leadership experience, drive inclusive education and support the development of high-quality teaching and learning within a vibrant and welcoming school community.

St Nicholas of Tolentine School is part of the Newman Catholic Trust, a growing family of schools dedicated to providing an excellent and inclusive education rooted in the values of the Catholic faith. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact within St Nicholas School and the wider Trust whilst also gaining valuable experience in a senior leadership position.

About the Role

The successful candidate will receive full support from the school’s Principal and the wider Trust to ensure a smooth transition and integration into the school’s leadership team. The Vice Principal & SENDCo/Inclusion Lead, will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of SEND provision, fostering a culture of inclusion and ensuring that every child’s individual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for SEND and Inclusion across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning for all pupils.
  • Work closely with the Principal to drive school improvement, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Manage and support the Inclusion Team, including Teaching Assistants, to deliver effective support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Act as the key liaison between parents, external agencies, and the Local Authority to ensure appropriate support and interventions are in place.
  • Contribute to the school’s Senior Leadership Team, supporting with day-to-day management and playing a pivotal role in school-wide decision-making.

  • Passionate about making a difference to the lives of all pupils, especially those with additional needs, ensuring that they achieve their full potential.
