What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting time to join St James Academy and Dudley Academies Trust. For the third consecutive year, the school is oversubscribed and this year, the school achieved its best ever examination results. Not only did outcomes exceed those in 2019 but St James also did better than 2022, bucking the national trend. It is clear that St James is an academy that is rapidly improving and its dynamic, aspirant culture will ensure that the school goes from strength to strength.
What the school offers its staff
Working closely with the Principal, the leadership team at St James Academy and the Trust’s Central Team, you will play a key role in continuing to drive a comprehensive school improvement agenda at pace. As an experienced leader, you will lead on either the Teaching and Learning strategy or the Raising Attainment strategy. You will also line manage several subject areas and ensure that all learners flourish.
You will have significant experience of education and a proven track record. You will be able to demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of effective teaching and learning and school improvement strategies. Most importantly, you will share our vision and commitment for improving educational outcomes across the Trust.
Further details about the role
The Trust recognises that our staff are our most valuable asset and investing in our people is a key strategic priority for the Trust. A common and extensive programme of staff development operates across the Trust, this is extended to senior and middle leaders, aspiring leaders, teaching and support staff and non-qualified teachers.
Commitment to safeguarding
All successful applicants will need to undertake an enhanced disclosure and barring service check and children and adults barred list checks, where the applicant will be employed in a regulated activity.
