Vice Principal - Teaching and Learning job summary
We seek an outstanding Vice Principal to lead on teaching and learning and the development and management of the overall curriculum of the academy. You will join a committed and focused senior leadership team to lead the Academy on its journey to sustained excellence.
The successful candidate will provide outstanding strategic and operational leadership of all areas of responsibility. A key part of this role is to develop and lead the school’s intervention strategy to sustain the highest levels of attainment and achievement across all curriculum areas.
You will have:
• A degree qualification (2ii or above) and Qualified Teacher Status;
• Experience of senior leadership in a school setting and a track record of outstanding learning and teaching practice;
• The ability to coach and motivate professionals, individually and within groups, to achieve individual and collective targets; and
• A passionate belief in the school’s mission statement.

Highfield Leadership Academy in Blackpool, Lancashire is a 1200 place, 11-16 secondary school and is part of Star Academies. We joined Star on 1 April 2016 and like all Star schools, “Leadership” is our specialism.
As a designated Leadership Academy, we are keen to ensure our pupils are offered encouragement and a wealth of opportunities to develop their natural skills, abilities and potential. We actively provide learning opportunities to teach performance leadership skills through project-based learning and community work. We ensure our pupils develop essential academic skills in line with our Trust mission to promote educational excellence, character development and service to communities.

Star Academies is a mixed Multi-Academy Trust that runs both faith-based and non-faith primary and secondary schools.
