Vice principal job summary

Thetford Academy is looking for a vice principal to contribute significantly to the leadership of the school and inspire our pupils to be the best they can be.

Thetford Academy is a large 11-19 secondary school located close to the A11 and is easy to reach from Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire. Although located in a beautiful part of rural Norfolk, the academy is truly comprehensive and is therefore ideal for a candidate who is looking for an exciting challenge and to make a genuine difference.

The school was rated as Good by Ofsted in December 2018 and we are looking for a candidate with the capacity to make us even better. Our vision is that every member of Thetford Academy community is happy, safe, and successful - we require our leaders to have high expectations and exacting standards in order to achieve this, because it is what our community deserves.

The successful candidate must be familiar with how to run a highly successful school, and capable both of setting strategy and implementing effectively. You should come with an existing track record of effectiveness and proven experience in school improvement and raising academic standards, and you’ll be committed to changing lives and outcomes for young people. We are prepared to be flexible in terms of the specific remit of the successful candidate to make the most of your individual talents and experiences.
