The Opportunity?
We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic and analytical candidate to work alongside the vice principal for curriculum, staff development and standards to drive forward the use of assessment at the college to improve teaching, curriculum planning and student outcomes. This is an exciting time to join the college and is suited to those who might aspire to senior leadership in the near future.
The successful applicant will be required to teach Mathematics at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level Mathematics available for a suitably qualified candidate. You will work as part of an outstanding Mathematics Team, who pride themselves on their innovative approach to supporting every student to achieve their full potential. You will benefit from entering a collaborative department who welcome forward thinking initiatives and are able to offer a new colleague advice, support and professional development opportunities in a friendly, positive and creative environment.

Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises of two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth; Beyton Campus is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13. Both locations provide an exciting, dynamic learning environment, where students display a positive attitude to learning and make good progress.
