This could also include games and creative activities like Cooking & Art etc, with the freedom to use our lovely school setting both indoors and out as appropriate. With the support of the management team, can you develop a plan of age-appropriate activities to follow by using your imagination. Organisation and planning skills are a must. Having experience of working with children is preferable but not essential. The ability to follow safeguarding protocol is an essential requirement of the role.

Our ideal candidate would be someone who

  • Has a love of outdoor learning to make use of the extensive grounds play and PE equipment
  • Has a passion to teach children about the wider world beyond the classroom using appropriate resources
  • To enhance classroom learning through music, play, IT, reading and writing
  • Has experience of working with children to be able to support our more vulnerable children
  • Has experience of a school environment to support the DSL with safeguarding priorities
  • Has basic IT skills to maintain attendance registers, book new attendees/leavers as well as support with content for the school newsletter
  • Full safeguarding, food hygiene, first aid and health and safety training will be provided

There is a real opportunity to make this role your own by taking ownership of our wraparound care provision. Our school is set in beautiful extensive grounds and use of these is highly supported. We warmly welcome visits so please drop us an email or call Fiona Allen on Fallen@lambourn.excalibur.org.uk or phone 01488 71479.

Other Duties

The jobholder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description. Particular duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time without changing the overall level of responsibility. Such variations are a common occurrence and would not justify a re-evaluation of the post. However, in cases where a permanent and substantial change in duties and responsibilities of a post occurs, consistent with a higher level of responsibility, then the post would be eligible for re-evaluation.

We reserve the right to appoint prior to the closing date, therefore early applications are recommended.
