Breakfast Club and After School Club Leader at Gatehouse Primary, Dawlish job summary

First Federation Trust a Multi Academy Trust of 29 primary schools across Devon, Plymouth and West Dorset are looking to appoint an After School Club Playleader at Gatehouse Primary Academy, Dawlish, This is a permanent position for 4 hours per day, ideally for 5 days a week, term time only.

We are looking for a warm and caring individual to lead our wrap around care facility at our school.

The key purpose of the job is to:

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the running of the Out-of-school childcare provision
  • Co-ordinate the provision of a caring, safe, secure and stimulating environment
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, including ensuring they are supported in order to offer the highest quality provision
  • Undertake the role of the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) for the Out of School Club setting in liaison with the DSO for the School (training will be given)
  • Daily manage the staff team, including managing rotas, and handling absences/ holiday/ sickness
  • Demonstrate previous experience in a playwork environment, working with school-aged children in a voluntary or paid capacity
  • Ideally have a full and relevant level 3 qualification or demonstrate competence at level 3 and a full and relevant level 2 qualification..
