Wrap Around Care Manager job summary

We are looking for somebody to work as part of a team of wrap around staff who will provide a safe and stimulating environment and encourage active, creative and imaginative activities. Our wrap around care is one of the essential services we offer to our parent community.

The key responsibilities

To plan and implement activities that engage children’s interest in learning. sing initiative to differentiate activities, ensuring full inclusion for all abilities and ages.

To prepare, maintain and monitor a safe and secure environment for the children; to monitor resources and ensure adequate stock in an appropriate condition.

To be the main point of contact on site for the children, parents/carers and the school. Contribute to the development needs of individual children are met and to encourage parent and carer support.

    To assess and record children’s personal, social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

      To require a high standard of behaviour, encouraging children to develop relationships with others and to recognise and deal with their emotions;

      To establish, develop, monitor and maintain positive relationships with children.

      To administer First Aid, as appropriate.

      Managing Staff:

      To ensure that WAC staff are effectively inducted, supported and supervised to maximise children’s learning.

      To ensure that staff are appropriately deployed and directed within the WAC Club Provision.

      To prepare staff for OFSTED inspection.

      Management, organisation and Administration:

      To take operational responsibility for the management and organisation on the WAC club.

      To ensure compliance of the Children Act and Ofsted including action plan formulation, monitoring and administration.

      To be responsible for the day to day financial administration and work within an agreed budget.

      To supervise the collection of fees and ensure that all monies are passed on according to WAC procedures

      To ensure that a suitable menu of food and drink is available.

      To assist in the formulation and monitoring of policies and procedures.

      To ensure that Health & Safety policies, Child Protection policies and other relevant policies are complied with; and that a register, accident books and other appropriate records are maintained and kept in line with the Trust Documentation Retention Management Policy.

      To monitor the quality of the learning provision.

      To ensure equipment and resources are fit for purpose and maintained and ordered according to Trust procedures

      To participate in appropriate professional staff development and training.

      To ensure the setting out and putting away of all equipment in a clean, tidy and safe condition.

      Hours:

      The working hours for this role will be Monday - Friday 2.30pm - 6.15pm. 21 Hours a week for 39 weeks, with 2 hours and 15mins admin time given.
