Wrap Around Care Room Leaders job summary
Purpose of the Job
To assist the Wrap Around Care Manager and Deputy Manager in providing a caring, secure and fun environment, through individual attention and group activities, and to organise an appropriate range of play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 -11 years.
Responsibility of a Room Leader
Organise and supervise a programme of play activities for the specific room at After School Club.
Work safely to encourage positive and measured risk taking from the children, showing an awareness of health and safety regulations and guidelines.
To provide safe, stimulating, creative and inspiring play opportunities for a range of age groups, in the specified room.
Prepare - in collaboration with children - activities, organising programmes/ themes and arranging equipment for the specified room.
To ensure that all activities, in the specified room, are inclusive so that all children are able to take part.
To help to develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring needs.
To consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities.
To deploy staff in the specific room to ensure that there is adequate supervision of all learning areas.
To administer first aid as necessary to the children in the specific room and maintain records of first aid provided.
To ensure that staff in the specific room are inducted, trained, supported and supervised to maximise children’s learning.

Ashley is a large primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 (Reception to Year 6). Since September 2021, we have had three classes in each year group, with 630 pupils in the school. We benefit from a huge site which includes a large playing field and a forest school area, where children experience outdoor learning such as gardening, bee-keeping and scientific study.
