Wraparound Care Assistant job summary

Are you looking for a rewarding term time only opportunity? We are thrilled to announce that we are now seeking a part-time Wraparound Care Assistant to join our friendly team at St Mellion Church of England Primary School. This position offers an opportunity for someone who is highly organised and experienced in planning and delivering engaging play activities for children aged 4 to 11. As Wraparound Care Assistant, you will provide a welcoming, stimulating and safe environment, be comfortable fostering positive interactions and engagement with parents, and follow our high safeguarding standards.

This role is working Monday to Friday 15.15pm until 18.00pm, 13.75 hours per week.

At St Mellion Church of England Primary School, we aim to provide our children with an environment in which they feel safe, can forge life-long friendships and are suitably supported to achieve their full potential holistically. We wholeheartedly believe that our school's vision and ethos helps to lay the foundations for all to develop physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally. As a result of our strong Christian distinctiveness we have seen some of our children want to become agents of change and support local and nationwide causes for the greater good of humanity.

As part of St Barnabas Multi-Academy Trust, we encourage our children to 'Bring It!'. When we discuss Bringing It within school we talk about what we can learn from The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30) and how we can bring our talents to school so that we can be the best versions of ourselves to enable us to flourish. This is supported by the Church of England's vision for education to live 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10). Additionally, we have three core Christian values that are threaded through daily school life and help to remind us God loves us all. Our Christian values of courage, creativity and friendship help all of us (children and adults) to live out our vision through learning and relationships in school.

On a school level, we often refer to our community as a family. This feeds in directly to our school strapline of 'Learning and Caring Together'. We believe that this is underpinned by the Thessalonians 5:11 quote "encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing" This encompasses how our school family works together to ensure that all achieve their fullest potential.

Our 'Bring It!' vision requires us to ensure our pupils are excited by and fully engaged in their learning and school experience more widely. We support them to use their talents to create positive school memories with their friends that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Our aim is to inspire a lifetime of adventure.

As a Church of England Trust, we support its vision for education which is deeply Christian, with Jesus' promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart.
