Year 1 Class teacher job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our community. Working together with our great staff team you will inspire our Year 1 children and contribute to our development as a school. From September 2022, we are aiming to separate our EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 children for their morning learning; this means we can offer really targeted support to meet the children’s needs, whilst still giving the benefits of working in a mixed-age class in the afternoon. We would be looking for our Year 1 teacher to work 4 mornings a week 8:30am-12pm (0.43 FTE).

Please visit our website to find out more about us: Ditchling (St Margaret’s) CE Primary and Nursery School – Learning together. Building success. (ditchlingprimary.co.uk).
This is an exciting time to join our school as we have recently become an academy joining the Hurst Education Trust. As members of the Trust our children have access to the considerable facilities of Hurst College and our staff have access to a wide range of CPD opportunities with the College. We are developing strong, collaborative links with the other Trust schools.

The successful candidate will:
• Have experience and good knowledge of teaching phonics in KS1
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and be a teamplayer
• Have the energy and creativity to make learning experiences engaging
• Have high aspirations for themselves and the children
• Have the ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing
• Have good organisational, planning and follow-through skills

• Is committed to support our Christian ethos, vison and values
