Purpose:

You will be an inspirational, enthusiastic and committed Year 2 teacher who is excited to join Little Mead Primary Academy become part of our dedicated, professional and fun team. You will play a key role in shaping the learning and experiences of our children, helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally during this important stage of their education.

You will work within a vibrant and diverse school community where compassion, empathy and a strong sense of belonging are central to everything we do, and deliver consistently high-quality teaching, maintain high expectations for all pupils and adapt your practice to meet the needs of every child, including those with special educational needs. Working closely with supportive colleagues, parents and the wider community, you will help our children to ‘be on TRACK’ and develop a love of learning.

Duties (further details in the attached application pack):

  • Deliver high-quality teaching that meets the Teachers’ Standards and secures good or better progress for all pupils through a well-planned, engaging and appropriately differentiated curriculum.
  • Plan, assess, record and report on pupils’ learning effectively, using assessment to set clear targets and inform next steps in line with school expectations.
  • Maintain high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and inclusion, making reasonable adjustments to support pupils with SEND and working closely with the SENCO, parents and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Create and sustain a safe, well-organised and stimulating learning environment, including high-quality classroom and shared-area displays.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s vision, values and School Development Plan, contributing positively to team and Trust-wide initiatives.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, communicating effectively about pupils’ progress and wellbeing.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing professional development, actively engaging in training, appraisal and professional dialogue to improve practice.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism and safeguarding, following school and Trust policies to ensure the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all pupils

Fluency Duty
