Ashcombe Primary School is a thriving urban school with 630 pupils currently on roll, arranged in twenty one classes. Our pupils come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. All of our seven year groups are currently full ( 90 pupils). There is a waiting list of families keen to place their children in the school and once again we were heavily over-subscribed for our bulk intake into the foundation stage for September 2021.

The school site is spacious with excellent grounds. The main school building was built and opened in July 2013. There is a purpose-built Children’s Centre on site providing three school classrooms for our Foundation Stage classes alongside a large nursery and home-base for Springboard.

We aim to educate and care for the whole child in line with our mission statement of “Achieve to Grow”. Successes are celebrated and any setbacks are seen as opportunities to learn (for staff and children). Our children come to us from a very diverse range of family situations. We aim to “Nurture, Value and Motivate” every one of them, often personalising school experiences for those with additional needs.

Ashcombe is part of the Kaleidoscope Multi Academy Trust, alongside five local schools and we are working together to ensure the collaboration will improve pupils’ education, confidence and social skills by striving for and sharing best practice.
