To support our vision and aims we’re seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and talented teacher for Key Stage 2. We’re looking for someone with strengths across the Primary curriculum; the successful candidate would be expected to lead a curriculum area across the school. Long Furlong is a vibrant, friendly school with wonderful children, committed and hardworking staff, and engaged governors and parents/carers.
The successful
candidate must be able to:
- provide creative, enriching, learning opportunities,
- demonstrate high expectations of learning and behaviour
- demonstrate an ability to nurture and support all pupils, including those with complex learning, emotional or other needs
- demonstrate knowledge and experience of continuous provision/ teaching with a play-based curriculum
- experience and knowledge of teaching and learning outside of the classroom
- demonstrate good organisational and interpersonal skills
- work closely with colleagues as part of a friendly and supportive team
- demonstrate a positive attitude towards continuing school improvement

Long Furlong is located to the north of the town, with the school opening in 1993 to meet the needs of the surrounding new housing. Abingdon-on-Thames is a pleasant and historic market town, six miles south of Oxford and within travelling distance of London and the Cotswolds. There are many attractions and eating places locally to suit both adults and children.
