St Mary’s, a large, very diverse urban primary school in Slough town centre which was set up to serve the needs of its local community whatever their culture, faith or religion; at present the school’s largest population is from a Muslim faith and cultural background. The school will become fully three-form entry in September 2019; a significant building programme was recently completed to accommodate this.
St Mary’s accepts all children throughout the year, works to meet their needs recognising their cultures, backgrounds, former experiences, abilities, gender and beliefs. Our vision of ‘Building a bright future for myself, my school and my community’ reminds us to shine our light on all that we do and to stay true to the school’s Christian values.
We strive to deliver an excellent curriculum to achieve this and ensure a high standard of education for our children, underpinned by our core values of Love, Forgiveness, Responsibility, Honesty and Respect which permeate the school at every level. Achievements include long-standing recognition for Primary Quality Mark and as a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School and Eco-Schools’ Green Flag Award. SIAMS
