What skills and experience we're looking for

Trinity Croft C. of E. Primary Academy are seeking to appoint an additional permanent Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 teacher and class.

We are looking for someone with recent experience of working in Year 6 who is be able to work on their own initiative and also work well as part of a team. We need someone with a strong commitment to supporting the learning and development of all children including those with specialeducational needs but with high aspirations for all.

What the school offers its staff

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would welcome a new challenge within a highly inclusive and supportive Christian environment. This role is primarily to support the teacher in delivering the curriculum in class but will also include responsibility of leading learning with groups of pupils. This may involve more specialist provision such as delivering Learning Support Programmes, Speech and Language programmes and bespoke interventions as advised. The post-holder will be line managed primarily by the class teacher but may also be directed by the SENDCo and Senior Leadership Team.

The post-holder will also be required to carry out regular cover supervision of the class. This will entail overseeing learning with the whole class as directed by the teacher. The emphasis of this will be on maintaining good order and a purposeful learning atmosphere.

This post will initially be based in Year 6 but the successful applicant may be deployed to work in any class throughout the school.

There may be the possibility of this appointment being made on Scale Point 12-17 for a candidate who is able to lead PSHE provision through school alongside the Head of School/Curriculum Leader.
