About the Role

King’s Leadership Academy Bolton is seeking to appoint a passionate and hardworking Year Leader to join our growing pastoral team. As a Year Leader, you will provide outstanding pastoral care and welfare support to a designated group of students, helping to foster a caring, respectful, and high-achieving school community. You will play a crucial role in building strong relationships between students, families, and the Academy, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.

You will be at the forefront of creating a positive culture where students feel supported, valued, and motivated to achieve their potential. You will work closely with senior leaders, Mill Tutors, and the wider pastoral team, implementing proactive interventions and supporting students' personal, social, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion the Academy’s ASPIRE values and vision.

  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families, maintaining regular communication.

  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Implement interventions to support student achievement, attendance, and wellbeing.

  • Lead on behaviour management, ensuring consistency in the use of rewards and sanctions.

  • Maintain accurate behaviour and safeguarding records and take appropriate actions when necessary.

  • Liaise with external agencies and conduct home visits when required.

  • Actively contribute to assemblies, parent events, and extra-curricular activities.

  • Mentor and guide students on safeguarding, wellbeing, and behaviour matters.

  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships and manage situations calmly and fairly.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Ability to inspire students, raise aspirations, and refuse to accept excuses for low performance.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
