What skills and experience we're looking for
We are now looking to appoint a Year Manager who will be able to challenge and support students in order to improve motivation, attendance, engagement and character for learning. We are looking for candidates who are skilled in effectively managing student engagement and have successful experience of working with the full range of students including the most vulnerable. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be able to positively influence students and confidently liaise with colleagues, parent/carers and a range of partner organisations.
The post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of duties including:
- Developing restorative and relational approaches to inclusion, holding students to high expectations and tracking progress
- Proactive steps to support children at risk of poor engagement
- Liaison with colleagues, families and other services to implement effective strategies aimed at securing engagement and progress

Wetherby High School is a mixed non-denominational foundation school for students aged 11-16. The school is located in the heart of Wetherby, in a semi-rural area north of Leeds. The school is a growing school with over 700 students on roll.
The former secondary modern was built on its current site in 1966 and we are now entering an exciting phase in the school's development, with a new state of the art building planned for the school community.
