What skills and experience we're looking for

Parsonage Farm Nursery and Infant School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Year R Learning Support Assistant to join our great team from September 2023.

The role will involve supporting Year R children in class, both inside and outside, from 9am – 12pm and then supporting the children at lunchtime from 12-1pm.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate empathy for children and be responsive to their needs, be able to work under direction and under their own initiative and enjoy being part of a hard-working team.

An applicant with an NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for someone who:

• Puts the needs of the children first
• Has a good understanding of young children’s needs and how to develop these
• Has high expectations of learning and behaviour for all children
• Has the confidence to support children who may exhibit more challenging behaviours
• Is committed to ensure that every child reaches their potential
• Has the patience and imagination to help and inspire children with all areas of EYFS
• Is able to work under the direction of the class teacherbut also can show initiative
• Has excellent team working skills
• Has an ability to communicate effectively with children and staff
• Is conscientious and enthusiastic
• Has a good sense of humour
