About Plympton St Maurice Primary School

Welcome to Plympton St Maurice Primary School, a small, one form entry primary school where every child is noticed. Our school is a welcome, calm learning environment where our staff team recognise the importance of being an individual, with individual needs and differences.

Our school grounds are unique. The school itself comprises of one long corridor with classes stemming from this. Our grounds are special - we have a larger than average school field with our own forest school area (and outdoor classroom) as well as a purpose build foundation area (covered for all weather use) and playground with equipment to keep the most active entertained.

Our children behave incredibly well in school and follow our three key principles of being safe, being kind and being ready to learn. Our staff are dedicated to improving the life chances of all children with our shared vision of ‘Nurturing curiosity to allow happy, aspirational children to flourish’.

We offer a wide range of clubs, residentials and whole school experiences as well as a rare overseas residential to France for our oldest children.

Are you someone who wants the best for every child? Plympton St Maurice Primary is a good school (Ofsted April 2025) looking to appoint an enthusiastic teachers to commence in January. This is a unique position and one which is linked to secured funding for three years. The post holder will support children across the school, providing bespoke interventions and tailored support. You will be working in small groups throughout the day, varying from group sizes of one child up to five or six. This is quite a unique role, one which will likely evolve as children move through the school. It will be heavily focused on supporting children based on need, and educational background. The children will have with academic, social and SEND barriers. There will be high expectations to ensure these children receive high quality care and instruction, showing impact and progress.

  • Have experience of working with children with SEND

About the Successful Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • The ability to work independently and use their own initiative
  • A positive and nurturing manner
  • Knowledge of a range of learning and behaviour strategies
