1:1 Classroom Assistant

Scale C 4 (£12.85 per hour)

Temporary role

28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 3.15 pm - Term time only

Do you have a passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and caring 1:1 Classroom Assistant to join our friendly team.

In this role, you will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support with their learning and social development. You will help them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence in a safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 support in class, following guidance from the class teacher and SENDCo

  • Assisting with individualised learning activities and differentiated tasks

  • Supporting the child’s social and emotional wellbeing

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence skills

  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children (ideally in a school or SEND setting)

  • Is patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • Is flexible, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.
