An exciting opportunity has arisen for two dedicated individuals to join our team as a1:1 Learning Support Assistants. The role entails providing tailored support on a 1:1 basis for children with significant special educational needs, including those with complex and/or profound learning needs and those experiencing delays in their communication and interaction.
We are seeking a positive and proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with the existing team to create inclusive learning opportunities. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with parents/carers, professionals, and school staff. The ability to update and maintain accurate records is crucial to ensure the progress and well-being of the children under your care.
Candidates should be prepared to provide intimate care when necessary and having an understanding of PECs (Picture Exchange Communication System) would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a compassionate approach, patience, and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of each child.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with the teacher’s lesson plans.
- To work under the direct supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities with small groups or individual pupils, providing feedback on their engagement in activities and their achievement of the desired learning objectives.
- Encouraging a high standard of behaviour, develop relationship with others and recognize and deal with emotions in an appropriate way
- To prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupils learning.
- To prepare and support the use of learning materials and create visual displays, in accordance with the requirements of the teacher, in order to facilitate a relevant physical learning environment.
We are looking for someone who has:
- NVQ 2 in support Teaching and Learning, or Equivalent OR able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post.
- Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting.
- Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills
