Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 15:30pm
Farndon Fields is a wonderful place to work, where colleagues and children take pride in their school: the environment, their learning and the wider community. It is a Good school (Ofsted June 2023) that is growing towards 420 children on roll. The school has a thriving pre-school and wrap around care provision. We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support the need of children in the classroom, with a focus on SEN and vulnerable pupils.
Farndon Fields Primary School are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant who will work under the direct supervision of a teacher to provide support for teaching and learning and associated activities in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To work under the supervision of a teacher to provide care and encouragement to children and young people with disabilities or special educational needs, supporting them to participate in activities and liaising, if required, with parents / carers / other professionals as appropriate.
- To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with the teacher’s lesson plans.
- Encouraging a high standard of behaviour, develop relationship with others and recognise and deal with emotions in an appropriate way.
- To prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupils learning.
- Participate in educational visits and off-site activities in order to support the full engagement of the designated pupil(s).
We are looking for someone who has:
- NVQ 2 in support Teaching and Learning, or Equivalent OR able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post.
- Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting.
- Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures
- Good interpersonal skills
