1:1 Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant job summary

Ashgate Croft is a large and complex area special school. We provide education and care for pupils with learning difficulties, including autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties and associated communication, behavioural and physical needs.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly motivated 1:1 Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to support access to learning for a pupil in our school. It will be linked to a pupil (Year 5) but you will work within a class team and will work with all pupils in class and with specific pupil on a rota basis with other class TA's.

This is a temporary position linked to the pupil and it is is for 30 hours per week (Mon-Fri) 8:45am - 3:15pm for 39 weeks per year.

Your employment in this post will be temporary and is linked to funding for a specific student - this contract will come to an end when the student leaves the school, although this is not to be regarded as an assurance of employment for this period. 1:1 linked to a pupil for the length of time the pupil remains in school (year 5 currently)

Please note that we are required to have references prior to interviews taking place due to safeguarding regulations, so references will be requested for all shortlisted candidates prior to interviews

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
