What skills and experience we're looking for
We have two
vacancies for 1-1 Teaching Assistants for enthusiastic and motivated individuals
who are committed and passionate about supporting children with additional
needs in school and who are able to provide high quality support. These are wonderful
opportunities to join a welcoming and supportive team in a growing school.
We are looking for people who are:
- Caring, committed and highly motivated
- Have high expectations of all pupils’ achievement and behaviour
- Hardworking and a team player who can work on their own initiative
- An Apprenticeship could be considered for the right candidate
This position will be based at St. John’s CE, Thornham but may from time to time require travel as necessary to collaborate with other schools which are all locally based.

Our school is a place where children and staff flourish through strong partnerships with parents enabling our children to meet their full potential. The team is committed to children's well-being, achieving high standards and providing the best opportunities. The school is set in the middle of a farming community surrounded by fields yet not far from Rochdale and Oldham with good links to the motorway and public transport networks.We are delighted to have recently joined the Cranmer Education Trust and are excited about working alongside our family of schools.
Our school is currently half form entry but will be growing to become one form entry from September 2024 with an extension on our build starting very soon.
