1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will play a vital role in the development and education of the young person. Your passion for working with young people who have SEND, along with your experience and skills, will contribute to creating a positive and enriching learning environment.

You will support in the educational, social, emotional, physical and sensory development of the individual pupil, under the direction and guidance of the SENCo and class teachers. You will assist in the implementation of the pupil’s Statement/EHCP and Individual Education Plan (IEP) and help to monitor their progress.

Ideally you will hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or a minimum 1-year proven track record in a primary or secondary school setting. You should have a clear understanding about effective teaching, raising and sustaining achievement and the support required by students. You should be a good communicator and should be able to engage effectively with young learners on a daily basis.

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
