1-1 Teaching Assistant (fixed term until July 2026) job summary
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced 1-1 Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting children with special educational needs, who is passionate about children’s learning, has a positive attitude and is able to fit in with our hardworking staff team to nurture, target and enable all of our children to thrive.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and outside professionals to deliver individualised support that fosters inclusion, confidence, and progress. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing consistent, nurturing 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Supporting the child’s social, emotional, and educational development
- Adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
- Promoting independence and engagement within the classroom
- Supporting with personal care and emotional regulation when required
- Liasing with Mum about some activities to complete at home, in the beginning
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with special educational needs (particularly high needs or SEMH)
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with children and adults alike
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Holds an appropriate qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or equivalent experience
