1:1 Teaching Assistant job summary

Are you a compassionate and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with high needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) at Peakirk-cum-Glinton Primary Academy.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life by providing tailored support to help them thrive in our inclusive school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs, in line with their EHCP

Supporting learning, communication, and social development

Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals

Contributing to a nurturing and structured learning environment

Communicating with families

Working Pattern:

Full-time (32.5 hours per week, 08:30 am to 3:30) or Job Share considered

👤 We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with high needs and autism

Is patient, empathetic, and adaptable

Can work effectively as part of a team and independently

Is committed to promoting inclusion and celebrating every child’s strengths

Has good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills

Has experience of early years and the early years curriculum

We are seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals who are committed to supporting children's development across a range of ages, from our Pre-School, through to Year 6. Staff are expected to demonstrate flexibility and may be required to work across both the Pre-School and School settings as needed, ensuring consistency and continuity in our high standard of care and education.
