1:1 Teaching Support Assistant job summary
Wrestlingworth C of E Infant School and Dunton C of E Junior School are small, friendly village schools.
Both of our schools have been recognised as ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED (December 2023).
We are in an exciting period of change for our two small rural schools as we develop a split site primary school from September 2024, as part of the CBC Schools for the Future project. Wrestlingworth is now Central Bedfordshire’s only Infant school, taking children from Reception to Year 2. Children then transfer to Dunton Junior school from year 3 and stay through to year 6.
There are lots of exciting changes ahead for both schools and we are looking for a strong, dedicated team to support us on this journey.
This role is to initially support a child in our Year 2 class at Wrestlingworth, Monday to Friday from 8.45am - 3.30pm, 31.25 hours per week term time only. The child is due to transfer to Year 3 at Dunton from September 2026 and the postholder would be expected to transfer with the child. The working hours from September 2026 will be 8.30am - 3.15pm.
This role is offered on a fixed term contract for the duration of the child’s time at the Federation.
We are looking for an experienced, committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in our Year 2 class with additional needs and work closely with the class teacher. This role may also include supporting other children / groups of children in the class as directed by the class teacher.
The successful candidate will:
- support the values and ethos of our Church Schools
- be adept in supporting children's learning and understanding their next steps
- be able to develop positive relationships with our already strong active school community
In return we can offer:
- a school that prides itself on the individual attention given to every child
- a school full of friendly, enthusiastic learners
- strong values reflected in the ethos of the Federation
- a dedicated, supportive and highly effective staff team
- parents that support their children's learning and the life of the school
- links with our churches and weekly worship in church
