1-2-1 Teaching Assistant - Watling Lower School, Dunstable

Hours: 31.25 hours per week

Contract: Fixed-term contract until subsequent named child leaves

Contract: Term Time + INSET

Grade: H3

Actual Salary: From £18,400 per annum

Start date: September 2026 or as soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting children with additional needs on either 1:1 or 1:2 basis. The role will be to work with a named child (or a maximum of two children across the school).

We are a diverse and inclusive school, and it is our desire to educate both the children’s hearts and minds. We are looking for someone who will have high expectations but more than that, an absolute desire to help children succeed and overcome any barriers they may have. You will have personal drive, commitment, innovation and have knowledge and experience of working with pupils with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, but more than that you will want to be part of a team of teachers and TAs who work together as one and whose sole aim is the support of our children.

  • Have you got a background as a Teaching Assistant or work within a Primary School in a similar role?
  • Have you got a ‘can do’ attitude with excellent communication skills?
  • Are you able to demonstrate initiative in a range of everyday tasks and activities?
  • Have you got resilience and a good sense of humor?
