Vacancy for 1st Line Technician

East Team - Based at Ely College

Salary:

The IT team are looking to expand with a 1st Line IT Technician at Meridian Trust!

This critical position will deliver excellent IT support, addressing IT tickets from both employees and students, and ensuring the quality of first-line support for IT issues.

The Opportunity

  • Provide IT assistance to users and customers who contact our helpdesk. Record all tasks in the Helpdesk system and deliver remote support to telephone users.
  • Make sure the IT equipment in all schools and across the trust are operating correctly, and regularly maintain the ICT equipment.
  • Install new machines, replace defective ones, troubleshoot issues, repair equipment when necessary, and arrange for external repairs if needed.
  • Visit our partner schools for IT maintenance and support, as well as to aid our other Academy teams when needed.

The ideal candidate

  • Good educational background including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • IT Qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of IT Troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge of PC hardware
  • Working knowledge of a range of software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Windows)
  • Professional conduct with colleagues and customers
