We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team as a 1st Line IT Technician at Meridian Trust! This critical position will deliver excellent IT support, addressing IT tickets from both employees and students, and ensuring the quality of first-line support for IT issues.
A driving license is required as this role may involve travel between sites within the IT hubs.
The Opportunity
- Provide IT assistance to users and customers who contact our helpdesk. Record all tasks in the Helpdesk system and deliver remote support to telephone users.
- Make sure the IT equipment in all schools and across the trust are operating correctly, and regularly maintain the ICT equipment.
- Install new machines, replace defective ones, troubleshoot issues, repair equipment when necessary, and arrange for external repairs if needed.
- Visit our partner schools for IT maintenance and support, as well as to aid our other Academy teams when needed.
The ideal candidate
- Good educational background including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- IT Qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Experience of IT Troubleshooting
- Good knowledge of PC hardware
- Working knowledge of a range of software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Windows)
- Professional conduct with colleagues and customers
