Stoke Damerel Primary Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the School as soon as possible.
Post: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Stoke Damerel Primary Academy, Collingwood Road, Plymouth, PL1 5PA
FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade C, Point 5 -7, £19,650 - £20,444 per annum (pro-rata)
Actual Annual Salary:£14,517.33 - £15,103.94 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st August 2023, part time; term-time (39 weeks per year).
Contract Hours:30.85 hours per week; Monday to Friday
About the role
We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and flexible SEN TA to join our SEN Department. You will work under the instruction/guidance of the SENCO to undertake one-one work/care/support to enable access to learning for a pupil with special educational and social needs.
About the successful candidate
We are looking for people who have the following experience and qualities:
- To have knowledge and understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive needs, that affect children and young people's development.
- Excellent listening skills
- An ability to build strong, trusting relationships
- Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in learning and social skills activities
- To use positive and personalised anxiety management strategies
