Drake Primary Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced HLTA to join the School from January 2025

Location: Drake Primary Academy, Plymouth, PL2 2EN
FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade E Pt 15-20 £29,093 - £31,586 per annum pro rata
Actual Salary: £19,823 - £21,522 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)
Contract Hours: 28.33 per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:10pm with 1 hour lunch break
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an excellent Higher Level Teaching Assistant or aspirant teacher to work with a group of children with additional needs, work across the school and to cover PPA. This role may suit a new qualified teacher looking for additional school experience before undertaking a class teacher role. The role will involve a mixture of individual and small group support as well as occasionally providing intimate care to the pupils. We are looking for candidates that are friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated to working with children with additional needs.

About the successful candidate
We are looking for candidates who ideally have:
- A HLTA qualification or above
- A good GCSE in English and maths
- The ability to personalise learning to meet the child’s needs
- The ability to work independently and use own initiative
- A positive and nurturing manner
- Knowledge of a range of learning and behaviour strategies
