Stoke Damerel Primary School, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced School Club Assistant to join the School from January 2025

Location: Stoke Damerel Primary School, Collingwood Road, Stoke, Plymouth, PL1 5PA
FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade A point 2 £23,656 per annum pro rata
Actual Salary: £8,534 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, term time only (39 weeks per year)
Contract Hours: The hours are 7.30 am to 8.45 am (Monday to Friday) and 3.15 pm to 6.00 pm (Monday to Friday)

About the role
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic School Club Assistant required to join our new Breakfast and Afterschool Club provision from January 2025. We are seeking to employ a creative individual who will make a positive contribution to our busy and friendly club. The role will require:
- To assist the Club Supervisor as appropriate to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the club
- To encourage, and support a team of playleaders to provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children, with creative and play opportunities
- To assist in ensuring the safety of all those children at the club
- To act in a responsible manner towards the children at all times
- To be responsible, with other team members, for ensuring that play materials and equipment are properly used, maintained
- To assist with the day to day administration and record-keeping
- Preparing and serving breakfast and afternoon snack to the children
- Escorting children
About the successful candidate
- Experience of working with parents and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, encouraging full participation in their children's play and learning opportunities
- Experience of working as part of team providing high quality childcare services
- At least 2 years' experience of working with children in the 4-11 years age range and their families
- Knowledge of child protection issues and policies and relevant Safeguarding procedures
- Already holding a first aid and/or food hygiene qualification would be advantageous.
