Reach South Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional, values-led system leader to join us as Regional Director (South Wiltshire and Dorset), alongside Executive Headship of SAIL.

This is a rare opportunity for a credible and ambitious leader to combine strategic regional influence with visible, values-driven leadership in a flagship specialist setting, shaping culture, strengthening outcomes, and ensuring inclusive excellence for every child we serve.

The combination of Regional Director and Executive Headteacher reflects our belief that system leadership is most effective when it remains closely connected to schools, pupils, and communities. You will be supported by a strong central team, experienced colleagues across the Extended Leadership Team, and robust local leadership structures within schools.

Why Reach South Academy Trust?

  • A values-driven trust where inclusion, safeguarding and wellbeing are non-negotiable.

  • A culture of trust, collaboration, and professional respect.

  • The opportunity to shape provision in growing regions with strong board and executive support.

  • A leadership community that invests in people and believes great outcomes come from great cultures.

About the Role

As Regional Director, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for schools across South Wiltshire and Dorset

  • Hold Headteachers and Heads of School to account for educational performance, leadership, and improvement.

  • Lead the Trust’s school improvement strategy within the region.

  • Ensure consistently high standards in teaching, curriculum, safeguarding, inclusion, and wellbeing.

  • Support and develop exceptional leadership capacity across schools.

As Executive Headteacher, you will:

  • Be the statutory Headteacher for SAIL (DfE GIAS registered)

  • Lead safeguarding, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

  • Model outstanding leadership and pedagogy.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, governors, and external partners.

  • Champion an ambitious, inclusive culture that enables every learner to thrive.

This role combines strategic oversight with operational leadership. You will form part of the Trust’s Extended Leadership Team and the Continuous School Improvement Team, working closely with the School Improvement Director to ensure every child in our Trust receives an ambitious, highquality education.

What We Are Looking For

We are open to hearing from outstanding leaders at different stages of system leadership who are ready for broader influence and responsibility.

Experience of, or strong readiness for, system leadership within a multi-academy trust is essential.

You will bring credibility with senior leaders, strong educational judgement, and the ability to lead with clarity, fairness and courage in complex and highaccountability environments.

Why This Opportunity Matters

  • Influence and shape the next phase of our Trust’s growth in your region.

  • Take on a strategic leadership role that builds capacity and strengthens collaboration across schools.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Extended Leadership Team to drive innovation and deliver our shared vision for inclusive, high-quality education across the Trust.

Regions

The Regional Director will lead a strategic hub that currently includes Hill View Primary Academy, Malmesbury Park Primary Academy, and SAIL, with responsibility for integrating future schools as the Trust grows in Wiltshire, Dorset, and neighbouring regions.

Next Steps:

If you are an experienced values-driven leader who believes that inclusive, high-quality education can transform lives, and you are ready to influence beyond a single school while remaining deeply connected to practice, we would welcome your application. Informal conversations and school visits are strongly encouraged.
