What skills and experience we're looking for
Outwood Academy Valley is looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational Second in Faculty to join our Computer Science and Business Studies department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. Our single goal is ‘Students First’ and you will be joining a strong team of professionals working to this sole aim. As second in faculty with responsibility for Computer Science this post attracts a TLR of £3,391.
The Computer Science and Business Faculty consistsof 4 members of staff; 2 specialist Businessteachers and 2 specialist Computer Science teachers. The trust also has a director of Computer Science to offer support, advice and resources when needed. Computer Science is taught one hour per week at KS3. We currently offer OCR GCSE Computer Science at KS4.We share the teaching of Computer Science and IT at A level with Outwood Academy Portland, our sister school, where we currently have a total of 3 groups. In addition, we offer GCSE & A level Business, where we currently have 4 A level groups. In an OFSTED deep dive last year the Computer Science department was rated 'outstanding'.
