Maths to join our team for either January or September 2023. We are now undoubtedly one of the best
schools in the country and this is a great time to join a Maths team and school
that is establishing itself as one of the best in the South West. This is a
dynamic and exciting place to work and we are seeking ambitious and talented
teachers to come and join us as we strive to become world renowned. If you are
only a year out of your ECT, please do not hesitate to apply as we value talent
and potential as highly as experience. We will invest in you and ensure your
own ambitions are met by our excellent track record in growing leaders.
At Marine Academy we deliver a knowledge-rich
curriculum that is cohesive, cumulative and highly sequenced. The curriculum is
academic, rigorous and challenging. It has been designed with long-term memory
in mind; students’ knowledge, skills and understanding are cemented by frequent
and systematic revisiting.
As a teacher at Marine Academy your time will
be highly valued. You will not be expected to mark homework- this is already
planned and set for you. You will not be expected to attend pointless
meetings- our meetings have specific foci, and only happen on a Monday. You
will not be routinely expected to handwrite feedback to students. Your lesson
observations will not be graded but feedback will help you improve. Your
lessons will not be disrupted by poor behaviour, our system will remove
students who cannot follow our rules so that you can get on with teaching.
You will receive weekly -1-2-1 coaching in
order to make continual improvements within your teaching. This improvement
will be aligned to the very latest in educational research and thinking. You
will follow Schemes of Learning that are already planned and resourced for you.
You will be supported by like-minded colleagues in an atmosphere of respect and
creativity. As 2nd in Department you will support the Head Of
Subject in leading a large department. You will be embarking on a leadership
journey, with relevant CPD and future opportunities to progress professionally.
If you value knowledge, consistency of
approach, the very highest academic and behavioural expectations of students

for the post of 2nd in Department.
