An exciting opportunity is available to become a 2nd Line IT Technician as our team expands. This essential position involves handling 1st and 2nd line support issues, as well as escalated IT problems from colleagues across the Trust. You will support your peers and assist both staff and students with IT concerns.
The Opportunity
- Assist Apprentices and 1st Line Technicians with escalated IT problems
- Provide strong professional advice to promote the Trust brand
- Working as part of a small, dedicated team you will be responsible for the maintenance, upgrades and availability of central and localised systems allocated to your team.
- You will make a major contribution to the successful implementation and support of the IT systems managed by the Trust’s IT services team, ensuring the smooth running of the systems and strive to assist all users to operate at optimum efficiency in the delivery of ICT.
The ideal candidate
- Good educational background including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- IT Qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Excellent Experience of IT Troubleshooting
- Experience of administering computer systems & networks (Change logs, backup, Anti-Virus checks and general updates)
- Good knowledge of PC, Windows Operating Systems and other IT hardware
- Working knowledge of a range of software packages including Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional conduct with colleagues and customers
- Be a team player, with a ‘can do’ solution focused attitude
- Possess outstanding communication skills and personal integrity
