A032b SEND Lecturer (SLD Specialist) job summary

You will plan and deliver inclusive, engaging learning that meets individual needs and supports learners to develop independence, communication and life skills. You will create a safe, positive environment where learners feel valued, listened to and confident to take part in their learning and community.

You will use fair and effective assessment to track progress, involve learners in their development and maintain accurate records. Working closely with families, colleagues and external agencies, you will support learners’ progression into adulthood and wider community life.

About You

  • Experience teaching learners with SEND, ideally in a special school or specialist post‑16 setting
  • Current knowledge and understanding of Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, CertEd or equivalent
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C (or equivalent)
