Skills and QualificationsEssential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience of teaching within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to academic excellence.
- A thorough understanding of effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a purposeful and engaging learning environment.
- High expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, attendance, and personal development.
- The ability to plan and deliver challenging, well-structured lessons that inspire and motivate pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to departmental and whole-school development.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Desirable
- Experience of teaching in a faith school setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Experience using assessment data to monitor progress and raise attainment.
- Experience contributing to curriculum development or wider school initiatives.
- Experience of pastoral responsibilities or mentoring pupils.
